Pesto, How to Store for Long Term Use

I love Pesto and as easy as it is to make, it is even easier to buy high quality pesto.  My motto is if I can improve upon a food item or recipe by making it myself, then I do it.  If I can find a high quality premade product that is affordable then I go with that.  I purchase my pesto from Costco so it comes in a pretty big container so storing it for longevity is important so my purchase doesn't end up in the compost pile.
I like to spoon my pesto into ice cube trays and freeze it.  Then I just pop them out of the trays and into a freezer bag and I am ready to go whenever I want pesto for a recipe.
When I am ready to use them I just pull them from the freezer and let them sit out while my noodles are cooking.  After draining the noodles and while they are still hot I simply add the pesto cubes (2 for 8oz of cooked pasta) and toss them with the noodles.  They melt pretty quickly and the heat from the noodles also warms the basil and garlic just enough to brighten their flavors.
